Joana Vicente was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at the age of 17. Whilst initially struggling to accept the diagnosis, she then began working with various associations.
In addition to her contribution to ENFA she is a working grupo member of EULAR Young PARE, she is General Secretary of the Portuguese League Against Rheumatic Diseases and President of APJOF – Portuguese Fibromyalgia Association.
Joana believes that sharing among groups and organizations is essential as this enables a more cohesive fight for the rights of patients and can better achieve the goals of change, better acceptance and favorable legislation for FM patients.
